European Commission Updates REACH Authorisation Decisions List
The European Commission published an updated list of REACH authorisation decisions on February 6, 2026. This list shows all authorization decisions made under Article 64(8) of REACH Regulation for Substances of Very High Concern.
The list includes authorizations for many hazardous substances such as phthalates (DEHP, DBP), chromium compounds (chromium trioxide, sodium dichromate, sodium chromate), trichloroethylene (TCE), hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD), and ethoxylated substances (OPnEO, 4-NPnEO).
The document shows important information for each authorization: the substance name, the authorization decision reference, the companies that received authorization, the specific uses allowed, links to ECHA documentation, and the validity dates. Many authorizations have expired, some are still valid, and others are pending adoption.
Several recent authorizations were granted in late 2025 and early 2026, including decisions for chromium trioxide uses by various companies. The Commission also amended many chromium-related authorizations through decision C(2026) 50, extending validity dates to July 1, 2030.
The list also shows that some authorization applications were withdrawn or refused. For example, applications for lead chromate compounds and certain uses of chromium trioxide were refused or annulled.
Companies must check this list regularly to verify if their authorizations are still valid or if they need to apply for review. The list is available on the European Commission website and provides links to detailed ECHA documentation for each authorization.
