California Updates Proposition 65 Compliance Resources

October 21, 2025

California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has released new tools to help businesses meet Proposition 65 requirements, which mandate warnings for consumer exposures to about 900 listed chemicals above safe-harbour levels. The materials include an explanatory video, sample warning statements, full regulatory text, guidance for small businesses facing Notices of Violation, and chemical-specific factsheets to clarify obligations and support consistent implementation across industries. These resources are already available and enforceable; no new rulemaking is involved.

What This Means for Business

Companies selling products in California should review the video and sample warnings, update their labeling and websites as needed, and use the small-business NOV guidance when responding to enforcement actions.
