CDX Updated to Reflect Latest EU REACH Candidate List Changes

February 05, 2026

To support your ongoing compliance with EU REACH obligations, CDX has been updated to reflect the latest changes to the ECHA Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs).

As part of this regulatory update, ECHA has added two substances to the Candidate List due to concerns for human health:

  1. n-hexane, listed for its harmful effects following repeated exposure
  2. 4,4'-[2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(trifluoromethyl)ethylidene]diphenol and its salts, listed due to reproductive toxicity

These substances are used in various industrial applications, including polymer processing, formulations, coatings, cleaning agents, and material processing functions. Their inclusion on the Candidate List triggers specific obligations under REACH for companies manufacturing, importing, or supplying substances, mixtures, or articles within the EU/EEA.

The latest Candidate List update has been integrated into CDX for screening, assessment, and internal compliance tracking purposes. This allows users to identify potentially impacted materials and prepare for upcoming regulatory obligations.

Please note that submission of these substances to ECHA is not yet possible. As with all Candidate List updates, there is a delay between the publication of the updated list and the availability of the corresponding ECHA Candidate List package used for official notifications (SCIP). Submissions can only be made once ECHA has updated its systems to include the new entries.

CDX will support submission to ECHA as soon as the official Candidate List package is updated and made available by ECHA.

To learn more about this regulatory update and its compliance implications, please visit the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) website, where detailed information and guidance are available.
