GADSL 2026 Update and Planned CDX System Release

March 12, 2026

The annual update of the Global Automotive Declarable Substance List (GADSL) for 2026 has been completed and published on the official GADSL website at www.gadsl.org. The update reflects the continued collaboration of the Global Automotive Stakeholders Group (GASG), representing automotive manufacturers, suppliers, and the chemical and plastics industries.
To support transparency and ease of review, newly added substances and changes to existing entries are clearly marked within the GADSL Reference List. The 2026 release introduces a wide range of updates, including substance additions and deletions, revised classifications and thresholds, and structural changes to several substance groups.
From the Compliance Data eXchange (CDX) perspective, the implementation of the GADSL 2026 update in the CDX system is planned for 21 March 2026. Once deployed, the updated content will be available to users directly within the system and reflected across relevant compliance workflows.
The 2026 update includes, among others:

  • extensive revisions to substance classifications and regulatory flags,
  • updates related to PFAS, PFCA‑related compounds, and SCCP substances,
  • alignment of selected substance groups with international regulatory frameworks,
  • additions and removals across biocides and other regulated substance categories.

We encourage CDX users to familiarize themselves with the upcoming changes in preparation for the March system update.
