REACH SVHC: ECHA Consultation for Adding DBDPE to SVHC Candidate List Closes

On August 11, 2025, the public consultation period for adding the flame retardant Decabromodiphenyl ethane (DBDPE) to the REACH SVHC Candidate List officially closed. The substance was proposed for inclusion after being identified as very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB). The addition, if finalized, will trigger significant legal obligations for companies with products containing DBDPE in concentrations above 0.1% w/w.
