UK REACH Candidate List Updated in CDX

June 18, 2026

he UK REACH Candidate List in Compliance Data eXchange (CDX) has been updated to reflect the latest additions published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Users can immediately screen their MDSs against the revised list within the system.

The update follows a significant regulatory development on the UK side. On 15 June 2026, HSE, acting as the Agency for UK REACH, officially added 15 substances and substance groups of very high concern (SVHCs) to the UK REACH Candidate List. The additions followed a six-week external consultation process during which responses on the identity and hazardous properties of the substances were carefully considered.

It is worth noting that all newly listed substances were previously included on the EU REACH Candidate List following the end of the transition period. However, this update does not mirror the EU list in full and covers only a selected subset of 15 substances and substance groups, reflecting the independent regulatory trajectory of UK REACH since Brexit.

Substances Added to the UK REACH Candidate List
The following SVHCs were officially added on 15 June 2026:

  • 2,2',6,6'-tetrabromo-4,4'-isopropylidenediphenol (TBBPA)
  • 2,2-bis(bromomethyl)propane-1,3-diol (BMP); TBNPA; 2,3-DBPA (substance group)
  • 2-(4-tert-butylbenzyl)propionaldehyde and its individual stereoisomers (Lysmeral)
  • 2-(dimethylamino)-2-[(4-methylphenyl)methyl]-1-[4-(morpholin-4-yl)phenyl]butan-1-one (Omnirad)
  • 6,6'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-methylenedi-p-cresol (DBMC)
  • 6-[(C10-C13)-alkyl-(branched, unsaturated)-2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl]hexanoic acid (Tetra-PSCA)
  • Barium diboron tetraoxide
  • Bis(2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethyl)ether (tetraglyme)
  • Bis(α,α-dimethylbenzyl) peroxide
  • Dioctyltin dilaurate and related stannane derivatives (DOTL)
  • Diphenyl(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phosphine oxide
  • N-(hydroxymethyl)acrylamide
  • Orthoboric acid, sodium salt
  • Reactive Brown 51 (tetra sodium/potassium salt)
  • Tris(2-methoxyethoxy)vinylsilane

Compliance Obligations for Suppliers
Inclusion on the Candidate List triggers a set of immediate legal obligations under UK REACH for suppliers of articles and mixtures containing these substances. Affected companies are required to communicate information on SVHCs in articles and mixtures, notify substances present in articles where applicable, and fulfill general communication duties along the supply chain. Companies should review their product portfolios without delay to assess whether any of the newly listed substances are present above the 0.1% w/w threshold.

HSE has confirmed that further consultations on additional SVHCs are planned for the remainder of the 2026 to 2027 work year, with announcements to be made via HSE ebulletin. Companies operating in the UK market are encouraged to monitor these developments closely and ensure their compliance processes remain current.
