Rail Industry Substance List Updated on Compliance Data eXchange

Mai 27, 2024

The Rail Industry Substance List (RISL) has been updated to the latest version, and the Compliance Data eXchange (CDX) platform now includes this new release. RISL provides a comprehensive list of prohibited and declarable chemicals used specifically within the railway industry.

The RISL database aims to help suppliers and manufacturers comply with relevant regulations by clearly defining and categorizing substances while specifying the regions where restrictions must be considered. Originally initiated due to the European REACH regulation, the list has expanded its scope to include rules for Canada, China, and the United States.

The RISL update was developed through a collaborative effort between the International Union of Railways (UIC), the European Rail Industry Association (UNIFE), and other key rail organizations. It reflects the latest changes in global chemical policies impacting the rail sector. By integrating the newest RISL version, rail organizations can ensure they have the most up-to-date information on restricted substances and chemical requirements.

Rail companies, suppliers, and manufacturers are encouraged to access the new RISL version on the Compliance Data eXchange platform to maintain compliance and promote sustainable practices within their operations.
