2024-01-04 - Two additional regulations have been incorporated into CDX

We are thrilled to announce the incorporation of two pivotal environmental regulations into our Compliance Data eXchange (CDX) platform, further enhancing our commitment to facilitating regulatory compliance for our users.

Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer:
The Montreal Protocol, a landmark multilateral environmental agreement adopted on September 16, 1987, is now an integral part of CDX. This protocol regulates the production and consumption of approximately 100 man-made chemicals known as ozone-depleting substances (ODS). These substances, classified in Annexes A-F, come with timetables for phased-out elimination, aiming to protect Earth's stratospheric ozone layer. CDX now supports businesses in aligning with the requirements set by this crucial protocol.

TSCA Section 8(a)(7) - PFAS Reporting:
CDX now incorporates the requirements of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Section 8(a)(7), impacting entities involved in the manufacturing or import of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) since January 1, 2011. This regulation mandates electronic reporting to the EPA, covering PFAS uses, production volumes, disposal, exposures, and hazards. Reporting deadlines vary, with the main deadline set for May 8, 2025, and an extended deadline for small article importers until November 10, 2025. The list of PFAS in scope is derived from the EPA proposed rule document and the EPA-published list on CompTox.
