Battery Regulation: Battery Removability Exemption Deadline Has Passed

For manufacturers of products containing portable batteries, a deadline under the new EU Batteries Regulation has now passed. April 30, 2025, was the final day for businesses to apply for an exemption from the EU's upcoming rules on battery removability.

These new rules are a key part of the EU's sustainability goals, requiring that end-users can easily remove and replace portable batteries. The exemption process was intended for specific cases where this was not feasible due to product safety or design constraints.
