• the Rail Industry Substance List (RISL) and
• the IEC 62474 Declarable Substance List (DSL).

Rail Industry Substance List (RISL) Updates:
On February 6, 2024, the Rail Industry Substance List (RISL) underwent significant updates, and CDX now hosts the latest version. This list provides a meticulous overview of prohibited and declarable chemicals within the railway industry. Its primary objective is to gather information from suppliers and sub-suppliers regarding materials and substances regulated by European and international laws. The RISL not only categorizes substances but also provides essential information on application scopes where bans or restrictions must be observed.

IEC 62474 Declarable Substance List (DSL) Updates:
Aligned with the European Chemicals Agency's revision of the EU REACH Candidate List on January 25, 2024, the IEC 62474 DSL also received an update. IEC 62474 stands as the International Standard for material declaration within the electrical and electronics industry. Specifically tailored to the Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) sector, the DSL encompasses requirements and formats for material declaration data exchange, material classifications, and exemption lists. Regularly updated components of the standard, including the DSL, are easily accessible through the IEC 62474 database, with revisions implemented through an expedited process.
