EU Publishes Updated EUDR Supply Chain Infographics

März 24, 2026

On March 24, 2026, the European Commission, in collaboration with UNEP-WCMC, published the 3rd Edition of the EUDR Supply Chain Infographics, updated to reflect the targeted amendments adopted in December 2025 under Regulation (EU) 2025/2650. The document covers obligations of operators and traders across seven commodity supply chains - beef, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, soy, and wood,  illustrated through nine practical supply chain scenarios.
The December 2025 amendments introduced two significant changes that this guidance reflects.
First, the application date for large companies was postponed to December 30, 2026, and for micro and small undertakings established by December 31, 2024, to June 30, 2027.
Second, obligations were restructured to create a clearer distinction between upstream and downstream supply chain actors. Upstream operators remain fully responsible for conducting due diligence and submitting due diligence statements. Downstream operators and traders are no longer required to re-verify or resubmit due diligence. They must instead ensure traceability by collecting reference numbers of due diligence statements from their suppliers. Non-SME downstream operators and traders must also register in the EU information system.
The guidance also reiterates that traceability requirements remain stringent: in most cases, commodities must be traceable back to the specific plot of land where they were produced. Mass balance approaches mixing compliant and non-compliant material are explicitly not permitted. Paper products were excluded from the scope of the regulation under the December 2025 amendments.
Looking ahead, the Commission is required to publish a simplification review of the EUDR by April 30, 2026, assessing the administrative burden of the regulation and identifying possible further simplifications, including through technical guidelines, IT system improvements, or legislative proposals.
