Minnesota Opens PFAS Reporting System for Manufacturers

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) launched the PFAS Reporting and Information System for Manufacturers (PRISM) in early February 2026. Manufacturers or their representatives must use this system to report intentionally added PFAS in products sold in Minnesota by July 1, 2026.
The reporting requirement comes from Amara's Law, a PFAS pollution prevention law passed in May 2023. The law aims to phase out non-essential PFAS use in Minnesota by 2032. All report information will be available to the public after review, except for private data.

The current version of PRISM allows manufacturers to register their accounts, review all required reporting fields, make payments, and submit reports. The system uses drop-down lists to select product and component types.
MPCA is preparing important system updates based on feedback from manufacturers who tested PRISM. These updates are expected in late February 2026. The main improvement will give manufacturers greater flexibility by replacing drop-down lists with open text fields for reporting products and components.
