Minnesota PFAS Reporting: Review Your Supplier Data Ahead of Upcoming Deadlines
Minnesota’s PFAS in products reporting requirements require affected manufacturers to provide information on products containing intentionally added PFAS. With reporting deadlines approaching for manufacturers granted an extension, and some previously submitted reports still awaiting supplier information, this is a timely reminder to review outstanding data gaps.
For CDX users, that review can start with the material and component information already collected from suppliers. Checking existing declarations and following up on incomplete responses can help manufacturers identify what information is available and what still needs to be obtained for their Minnesota reporting.
In its 27 October update, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) highlighted the next reporting deadlines and reminded manufacturers to continue requesting missing supplier information, even where an initial report has already been submitted.
Reviewing supplier information in CDX
Before preparing or updating a report, manufacturers should review whether their supplier information adequately covers the products concerned. CDX users can check existing material declarations and request additional information where data is missing or incomplete. An unanswered request or an incomplete declaration should not be treated as confirmation that PFAS are absent.
This data collection supports report preparation, but it remains separate from regulatory submission. Minnesota PFAS in products reports must be submitted through the PFAS Reporting Information System for Manufacturers (PRISM), and manufacturers remain responsible for assessing whether their submissions meet the applicable requirements.
Upcoming reporting and waiver deadlines
Manufacturers that received an approved extension must submit their reports through PRISM by 14 December 2026. This deadline applies specifically to manufacturers granted an extension; it is not a new general reporting deadline.
For those manufacturers intending to request a reporting waiver, an earlier date applies: requests must be postmarked by 14 November 2026. Applicants must demonstrate that equivalent PFAS in products information is publicly available and verifiable. The request form must be mailed with payment of the applicable fees and cannot be submitted electronically.
MPCA encourages manufacturers to begin data entry early so that questions or technical issues can be addressed before the reporting deadline.
Follow up on information missing from earlier reports
Manufacturers that submitted incomplete reports because supplier information was unavailable should continue requesting it. Any new information received since the initial submission must be reported by 1 February 2027. MPCA has indicated that further instructions on submitting updated reports will be provided later this year.
The immediate task is therefore not only to prepare outstanding submissions, but also to revisit unresolved supplier requests and check whether newly received information completes or changes previously reported product data.
Further information, waiver request forms and reporting guidance are available on the MPCA PFAS in products reporting webpage.
