New Conflict Minerals & Extended Minerals Reporting Template Released

Mai 06, 2024

On April 26, 2024, the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) released the following updates:

Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) Version 6.4
The RMI has released an updated version of the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT), version 6.4. This template is a widely-used reporting tool that helps companies identify the sources of conflict minerals (tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold) in their supply chains.

No  major changes were mentioned between CMRT 6.31 and CMRT 6.4, just minor updates and corrections:

  • Corrections to all reported bugs and errors
  • Updates to highlighting on the 'Smelter Lists' tabs
  • Updates to the Smelter Reference Lists

Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT) Version 1.3
Additionally, the RMI has released an updated version of the Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT), version 1.3. The EMRT is an expanded version of the CMRT that covers a broader range of minerals beyond just the conflict minerals.

The key changes in EMRT 1.3 include:

  • Corrections to all bugs and errors
  • Updates to highlighting on the Smelter List tabs
  • Updates to Smelter Reference List and Standard Smelter List
  • Added German translation to the file

Compliance Data eXchange (CDX) Updates
To incorporate these changes, the Compliance Data eXchange (CDX) platform has been updated to support the new CMRT 6.4 and EMRT 1.3 versions.

These updates from the RMI and the CDX platform are important for companies that are required to report on the sources of conflict minerals in their supply chains, as they ensure that the reporting templates and data exchange mechanisms are up-to-date and aligned with the latest industry standards and regulations.
