2024-03-26 - CDX System Enhancements: Streamlining Compliance with RoHS China and RoHS Korea

The Compliance Data Exchange (CDX) is excited to announce significant enhancements to our system, effective from March 21, 2024. These updates are designed to empower our users to efficiently assess their supply chains and ensure compliance with the stringent requirements of RoHS China and RoHS Korea.

RoHS China Compliance:
China RoHS, also known as the Administrative Measure on the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products, is a mandatory standard that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products being sold into China. CDX now offers functionalities that allow you to evaluate your products against the China RoHS requirements, ensuring that your products meet the legal thresholds for hazardous substances such as lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs).

RoHS Korea Compliance:
Similarly, Korea RoHS, known as the Act for Resource Recycling of Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Vehicles, restricts the use of hazardous substances in the design and manufacture of certain types of electrical and electronic products. CDX now provides the necessary tools to assess and declare compliance with Korea RoHS, which aligns with the European Union’s RoHS Directive and includes additional substances for regulation.

Key Features of CDX for RoHS Compliance:
Product Analysis and Determination: Evaluate your products to determine specific RoHS compliance requirements.
Material Declaration: Generate and manage declarations for all components, ensuring transparency and traceability.
Supplier Communication: Streamline the process of requesting and collecting compliance data from your suppliers.
Regulatory Updates: Stay informed about changes in RoHS regulations and ensure ongoing compliance.

The CDX team is committed to providing our users with the tools and resources needed to navigate the complex landscape of global compliance requirements. These enhancements to the CDX system underscore our dedication to supporting our users in meeting their compliance obligations efficiently and effectively.
