2025-02-24 - SCIP Notifiers Package Now Available in CDX

We are excited to announce that the latest version of the SCIP notifiers package, aligned with the recent inclusion of hazardous chemicals in the REACH Candidate List, is now available in CDX. This update allows users to create SCIP notifications for articles containing newly added Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs).

Understanding the Process
To provide clarity on how substances are added to SCIP packages, here’s an overview of the process:

1. REACH Candidate List Updates:

  • ECHA updates the REACH Candidate List twice a year, typically in January and July, adding substances meeting SVHC criteria under Article 57 of REACH.
  • CDX synchronizes its SVHC database immediately following these updates to reflect the latest regulatory changes. While users gain visibility into new substances promptly, submissions for SCIP dossiers containing these additions remain temporarily restricted.
  • This delay occurs because ECHA requires additional time to prepare and distribute the updated SCIP reference substance package, which CDX integrates into its platform once released.

2. SCIP Package Update Process:

  • After updating the Candidate List, ECHA prepares an updated Candidate List reference substance package for SCIP notifications.
  • ECHA then releases this updated SCIP reference substance package for companies to download and use.
  • CDX imports this package to ensure our system is fully aligned with ECHA's latest data. This synchronization guarantees that all compliance documentation generated through CDX aligns precisely with the latest regulatory requirements.

Users should note that while the updated Candidate List becomes visible in CDX immediately after ECHA announcements, creating SCIP Dossier for new substances depends on the SCIP package availability.

This update ensures that your SCIP notifications remain compliant with the latest regulatory requirements.
