CDX Updated for Seamless SCIP Compliance with Latest REACH SVHCs

Juli 07, 2025

We are pleased to inform our users that CDX has been updated with the latest SCIP notifier package. This release is synchronized with the newest additions to the REACH Candidate List, enabling you to create compliant SCIP notifications for articles containing the most recently added Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs).

How the Update Process Works
The timing of these updates is based on a coordinated process between ECHA's announcements and our system integration. Here’s a closer look at the two key stages involved:

1. ECHA Updates the REACH Candidate List: The process begins when the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) adds new substances to the REACH Candidate List, an event that typically occurs twice a year (in January and July). CDX registers these new SVHCs, making them visible within our database. While you can see the new substances, there is a short, built-in delay before they can be used in SCIP submissions.

2. ECHA Releases the SCIP Reference Package: This delay is necessary because after updating the Candidate List, ECHA must prepare and separately release an updated SCIP reference substance package. Once ECHA publishes this official package, it is imported into CDX. This final integration is what activates the functionality for you to create and submit SCIP dossiers that include the new substances, ensuring your reports are perfectly aligned with ECHA's requirements.

We hope this update will help you stay compliant and informed about the latest regulatory changes. Should you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out.
